Job Description

Our client a prestigious commercial real estate company located in Midtown Atlanta, is adding a Legal Leasing Assistant to their team. They are now working is in the office which have been modified to protect against Covid.  Compensation is commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities include:
•    Initiate lease (retail, office and industrial) documents, including secondary documents from letters of intent and/or lease modifications, termination agreements, landlord subordinations/waivers, etc., using internal document forms and language as a basis.
•    Manage versions of and prepare redlines/revisions to drafts of lease documents and secondary documents using Workshare.
•    Assemble documents with multiple exhibits.
•    Update lease production report.
•    Assist in the due diligence process & documentation for acquisitions and/or sales, such as estoppels, rent rolls and all other related documents, when necessary.
Create and maintain working files in relation to lease documents.
•    Compose internal and external correspondence.
•    Use internal accounting software (MRI) to run account summaries and check for account arrearages.
•    Investigate and gather information from internal and external sources.
•    Prepare and send packages and correspondence via Federal Express, or equivalent and via email
•    Setup and submit documents for signature, including DocuSign (if and when initiated).
•    Assist in other duties or projects, as assigned, or as needed.
 
 
Qualifications
•    5 years’ legal assistant experience required, including strong administrative skills; previous experience in a lease documentation or legal department of a real estate company is a strong plus
•    High School Diploma or GED required, Bachelor’s Degree 
•    Highly proficient using MSOffice (Outlook, Word, Excel), experience in MRI and DocStar a plus
•    Demonstrated ability to learn and use new computer software and systems
Ability to handle instruction and ask questions as needed
•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills
•    Demonstrated expertise in creating and maintaining documents (both physical copies and network files), and formatting, inputting, proof-reading, editing, retrieving, and copying same
•    Must be detail-oriented, analytical, highly organized, flexible, and able to effectively handle a high volume of work with competing priorities and at times a fast paced environment
•    High degree of accuracy 
•    Demonstrated success working in a team environment, interaction with leasing, property management, lease administration and development departments.
•    Ability to work occasional evenings in support of deadlines, or as deemed necessary
•    Must be open to the possibility of expanded duties as knowledge increases
