Experience should include 3 to 6 years as an attorney in a law firm or corporate legal department. Top credentials required. Responsibilities in a busy and growing practice include working with Regulatory and Consumer Credit Compliance Team in a nationally-known banking regulatory and consumer financial services practice. Substantive areas of expertise/experience should include federal and state regulation of banks and other financial services providers (including privacy and information security), multi-state licensing and oversight of financial services companies, compliance with federal and state consumer credit lending laws and regulations such as RESPA, TILA, FCRA, GLBA, ECOA and HMDA (with an emphasis on mortgage lending), examinations and governmental enforcement actions in fair lending, predatory lending and credit products and/or related administrative and legislative work.
Substantial first-chair opportunities and client contact are available to a candidate willing and able to take on the challenges of a dynamic, growing practice in one of the nation's banking centers. The ability to work effectively with staff, attorneys and clients in a team-oriented, collegial environment is required.
Current Admission to North Carolina Bar is helpful but not required, but candidate will be expected to take NC Bar Exam or obtain waiver at the earliest opportunity.
